Carl McConnell Activity Center

The Carl McConnell Activity Center is a joint project between Community Support Services and Challenger Sports. Both organizations support sporting opportunities for children and adults with developmental disabilities. This center hosts the CSS Summer Camp program and our recreation program for young children with disabilities, as well as a variety of leisure activities for our G.O.A.L.S. program.

The center was named after former Community Support Services Board President, Carl E. McConnell, Jr. who passed away in 2003. Carl was instrumental in moving the activity center project from concept to reality through his fundraising efforts and continual belief that a location should be created to afford persons with special needs an opportunity to have access to adaptive fitness and health activities.

Our many thanks to the McConnell family, our local sponsors, and our board and staff who have joined us to create a legacy that will provide opportunities for a lifetime!
